₹35 LPA meaning, monthly salary and in-hand estimate
35 LPA means ₹35,00,000 per year, or ₹2,91,667 per month before deductions. LPA means lakh per annum; your offer determines whether that amount is CTC or gross salary. If it is annual gross, our new-regime example estimates ₹2,35,808 per month in-hand after capped employee PF, tax and a ₹2,500/year professional-tax placeholder. CTC can include employer costs and variable pay.
If ₹35 lakh is CTC, first remove employer PF, gratuity accrual and other employer costs to find gross pay. The breakdown here assumes ₹35 lakh gross, all paid as salary. Bonuses, benefits and a different employee PF deduction can change the result.

Reality check
The annual-to-monthly conversion is ₹35,00,000 ÷ 12, or about ₹2,91,667 before deductions. The in-hand example is lower because it subtracts employee PF, professional tax and estimated income tax spread over 12 months. It is not a promise about the monthly bank credit from a ₹35L CTC offer.
A key planning issue at ₹35 LPA: whether to use old or new regime is not a simple comparison at this income level. The old regime's deduction menu (home loan interest, HRA, NPS, 80C) can reduce taxable income substantially. But the new regime's lower slab rates and absence of documentation requirements have their own appeal, especially if your deductions are limited. The regime calculator cannot model your entire financial situation — use it alongside professional advice.
For most employees at ₹35 LPA, the monthly cash-flow question is less urgent than the wealth-accumulation question: how much EPF, NPS, ESOP, or real estate equity are you building? Monthly in-hand tells you what is available for spending and liquid savings. The rest of the wealth picture requires a separate analysis. Use this page for the salary mechanics and engage a financial planner for the broader picture.

At ₹35 LPA — what usually matters
Band-specific context (not duplicated on other LPA pages). Still illustrative — tune the calculators for your payslip.
- No surcharge applies in this salary-only example: ₹35L gross less ₹75,000 standard deduction gives ₹34.25L taxable income. Surcharge starts above ₹50L total taxable income.
- RSU vesting, large annual bonuses, and joining pay can push effective tax rate further — annualise carefully before comparing to “LPA”.
- At this band, PF wage definition and structure (Basic vs allowances) can shift in-hand by several thousand rupees monthly — ask HR for a pay breakdown.
- For advance tax planning and filing, rely on Form 16, AIS, and a CA — not long-tail LPA pages.
Assumptions used on this page
- Gross salary: ₹35,00,000 per year.
- New regime; resident individual with only ordinary salary income, eligible for the rebate where applicable. Special-rate and other income are excluded.
- Professional tax: ₹2,500/year placeholder — replace with your state.
- Current monthly employee PF assumption: 12% of the lower of monthly Basic+DA and ₹25,000. Basic+DA is assumed to be 45% of gross, giving ₹3,000/month PF here. Full-Basic PF can be higher; enter your actual deduction in the calculator.
- ₹35 LPA is interpreted as ₹35,00,000 gross per year.
- Surcharge and high-income nuances are not modeled in the engine used here.
Engine warnings: In-hand is an estimate: actual TDS may differ due to proofs, perquisites, arrears, and surcharges. The monthly TDS line is annual tax ÷ 12 for planning — not a payslip TDS schedule. Current monthly PF from 17 September 2026 (about ₹3000/month; annualized current run-rate ₹36000). This is not the full Tax Year / FY 2026–27 PF total (about ₹29360 for the constant-wage existing-member model). Old-regime tax uses the Tax Year PF estimate when Basic+DA is supplied. Actual annual PF can be entered explicitly.

FAQ
How far off is the ₹35 LPA estimate from my real payslip?
